Rear shock bushings suck, broke bushing bolt
We I decided to remove my shocks in the rear per what was shown on the tech post. Well if you ever have tried to remove the bolt on a car that's been in Michigan for it life time you are in for a head ache. So far I've managed to temporary repair the driver side by drilling it out. It's offset. I've now Got to take a day and remove both hubs. Oh and if that seems easy I hope every here has gotten a chance to reomve the parking brake cable with out just want to call a junk yard to get rid of your car. Honda has got a smart design but man what were they thinking.
Now tell me are the front shocks the same? I love my car but my time is more important. Good news is Michelin primacy MX4V is a nice tire. switched form a 195/65/15 to 205/60/15. H rated and cuts through ice and snow. I also most bought a bridgestone but they don't do snow well.

You shouldn't have to remove much more than 2 bolts up top and the bolt on the back of the hub assembly to remove the rear shocks. Remove those and take a long cheater bar to drop the rear hub a few inches, wiggle out the strut/spring assy.
At least this is how it goes on my 95 Coupe, don't know what you're driving as you didn't specify.

did that but the head on the bolt snaped I to thought it was just that simple but the bolt is seized in the sleve on the bushing. Wacking it on made the bushing inside the sleeve move.

Wait what?
Are you trying to install just suspension? Should just be like 21337 said, two top nuts, and then the lower bolt. Use either a air gun or super long breaker bar and it should come free. Spray PB Blaster on it if it's still stubborn.
Keep in mind the nut portion is welded to the strut so you just want to be jumping on the bolt.

I'll take picture in a few days and you'll see what happend. when I went to losen the bolt on the shock, not the welded nut but the bolt itself. The head of the bolt completely snapped leaving the rest of the bolt in its place. The next thing I tried was griding the welded nut off the shock hoping I could just knock the remainder of the bolt though the bushing. That failed the bolt it self had completely stuck it self inside the bushing. rust weld

Re: Rear shock bushings suck, broke bushing bolt
Old post but for anyone needing info .. I had the exact problem on one side ... The head snapped off and the rest of the bolt was seized in bushing. I ended up cutting off the nut side of the strut yoke with a cut off wheel, then torching and drilling out the rubber that isolates the center price of the bushing, then taking a pneumatic air saw and sawing through the outer ring that's pressed in. Cutting through the ring removed the tension and it came right out. Greased a new bushing and carefully pounded it in straight...
