Default problem while driving 94 accord

hey everyone..well there seems to be a small problem i'm having while driving my accord, i'm not sure if anyone would be able to help me, but i figured this would be a good place to look. Its kinda hard to explain though, so I understand if no one gets what i'm talking about.
Anyway..i drive a 94 accord DX, and lately..while i'm driving it, sometimes i'll step on the gas, and it feels kinda like its "lagging" nothing happens, and i'll press down a little more, and it'll kinda, catch on, and then accelerate. also, at lower RPMS, when i accelerate there's a slight rattling sound i hear. If anyone could tell me what it is, or MIGHT be, i'd appreciate the help. Thanks!

Have you had the timing belt replaced recently? Sounds like it may be off a tooth. The noise you hear is possibly what they call "ping".

Even if you did NOT have it replaced lately ... you may want to check the static timing on the engine anyways. The belt may have slipped and now it could be off a tooth causing this problem.

it might be your fuel filter....the rattling noise that you hear is your car gagging cause its not getting any fuel, and its sputtering. when was the last time you had a tune up.....if that isnt the problem could be other possiblities....air filter, fuel injectors clogged, timing is off a few degrees, or something worng with you ignition, spark plugs, wires, coil, or distributor cap, or rotor........
