I'm planning to bypass my power steering pump but I am slightly confused with the plumbing at the rack. I have located the high pressure and low pressure lines that I need to loop and T into with a line and reservoir, that's all set. I am just wondering what the other two lines there are for and what I should do with them. I THINK that these lines are to increase pressure at lower speeds for greater steering assist, but I'm not sure. They do come from what looks like a sensor of some sort on the back of the tranny. So I'm just wondering what others did in this case so I get this done right the first time, thanks!

I did exactly what you are doing so don't worry about the other lines. As long as you have the lines that are removed from the pump you are good.

I was thinking about taking the two middle lines loose and plugging them, but I may just leave them alone like you did. Do you remember if the adapter sizes for the main lines are 16mm x 1.5 and 14mm x 1.5 as the how-to's state? Thanks alot.

Personally I think the Accord is way too big for a no P/S mod. IMO this is a drag race modification only and daily driving with winding roads and parking .. is nuthing but a decrease in the vehicles street performance.

The 2 ports on the rear of the tranny is where the speed sensing is controlled.

I havent really confirmed if running a power steering rack w/o fluide is a bad idea or not .. but i would assume it would be. And that P/S cooler pipe in front of the radiator is also there for a reason. IF you were planning on keeping the P/S rack lubed .. it will no longer be cooled and that prob. isnt any good.

Considering the fact that my PS pump only works half the time I think I have an Idea of how it will be. It'll also be very easy to go back should I ever want to. And the reason for the cooler is because the high pressure of the system WITH the pump naturally creates heat, but because there will be no high pressures in the system any more, then heat should not be a problem.

it really ist a "drag race" modification, more or less another way to save weight, for rhdune's case it was purposely removed to save weight. in my case, i was doing a h22 swap into my cd7 accord and didnt feel like spending the extra couple hundred dollars to get accord ps lines coupled w/ prelude lines, plus the only real difference in steering is VERY slow driving and parking, curvy roads aint ****

I personally can handle the vehicle much better w. power steering. Guess its a personal prefference.

yeah forsure personally i like the stiffness of it, rather than the supersensitveity of ps

I just looped the lines using the stock lines and a t-bolt clamp... I'll try to get a pic.... but for me PS was mainly to save weight and make the bay look cleaner. The car isn't my daily driver so that doesn't matter. When i drive my car especially on curvy roads, it makes you feel the road and you can feel the car when you are turning...

Just wondering what line you "T-d" into for the resovoir, the low pressure line or the high pressure line???

Ok, so yesterday, I looped the two lines in my first picture above and T'ed into them with a reservoir and all. The steering effort though, was VERY hard and today after looking at it again, I saw that all of the fluid evidently leaked out from one of the return lines at the fender (where the stock reservoir would be). So I am guessing that every time I turned the wheel it was pumping fluid through the speed sensor assembly and then out of the system. Which tells my that in order to make this work I will have to loop the other two lines associated with the speed sensor, and possibly even tie them into the breather system?? I dunno, but for now I have it back to stock steering so I can at least drive without serious straining until I can get more parts.....any thoughts?
