Possible Transmission Oil leak?
Hey,
So about 2-3 months ago I had to take my 1999 Honda Accord Sir-t into Marshall Transmissions to get my 5th and Reverse fixed inside the gearbox. All that was fine apart from the bill I also got a new clutch chucked in while they were at it. The next few weeks were fine. After about a month It felt as though the gearbox was get stiff, gear changes were quite clunky and sometimes felt as if it was grinding when putting it in gear (mostly while going into 2nd). Now I know it is winter and that would explain a bit of sluggish-ness atleast when the car was cold. But even when it is warm the gearbox just doesn't seem smooth, it is better, but not smooth.
I took my car for a full service 2 weeks ago at oil changers, Everything fine apart from them noticing a leak inbetween the Engine and gearbox. (They said not to worry about this, as it wasn't very major)
These are the conclusions I have come to:
- Their is an trans oil leak and its slowly getting lower, and lower causing the sluggish performance
- Marshals replaced the trans oil when they put it back in the car with some shitty low grade stuff (Wouldn't think so, but they didn't tell me what they used)
- The gearbox is stuffed.
Out of these which do you think would be cause? I wouldn't think it would be the gearbox being stuffed because they seemed to think that it looked 'pretty much brand new' with the 5th and reverse fixed.
Thanks for any help, or suggestions.
