Sounds like you'll have a tough time finding an exhaust system that will meet your needs. The quiet systems that appear similar to stock are usually more expensive. You won't find much to improve performance that looks "exactly" like stock.
Apex-i World Sport II is the exhaust I have on my Accord. It is extremely quiet incomparison to other systems I have heard and is pretty stock looking. Unfortunately, it's quite a bit more expensive than other systems.

Yeah, im in agreement with HandoEX. Finding a performance exhaust that keeps the stock look is going to be difficult, and on the expensive side. If you cant find a pre-fabricated exhaust, you could try putting together your own custom kit. That is what I did, but my car is a little different b/c of the custom turbo kit. And the only way that will be cheaper is if you know someone who has a connection with exhaust part and knows how to weld.

have a local muffler shop bend up a mirror image 2 1/4" pipe system, add a resonator in the same location as stock, weld up the proper hanger pins and hang an OEM 2 1/4 in / 2 1/4 out Muffler on it. It will be quiet, the muffler will flow more than enough for the H22 and you won't have this shinny stainless mirror yelling "Steal Me!" from out back.

Keeps in line with the "sleeper image"

I'm kinda in the same boat as you. I have just swapped a jdm h22a into my 92 Accord alond with the flywheel and stage 2 exedy clutch which makes no difference when it comes to exhaust, but do you have aftermarket headers or intake? I'm guessing you probably do, anyway I have been pulled over twice for my exhaust being too loud, and am in the market for an exhaust that looks stock but performs well and I have seen first hand with dyno runs that the RSR exmag is the exhaust that I will be saving up for. It looks stock it's quiet and the gains are quite impressive, however like everyone before me has said it's not cheap, but to me it would be worth it in the end. Apexi, Magnaflow and Flowmaster are also a few other that I heard were quiet enough witth good flow, but again not cheap. Good luck man

If you want to look exactly like the stock muffler, keep the one you have right now... and do what you want to do.....
I say that because my friend has intake, headers, high flow cat and stock muffler.... which is quiet... ...yet... sounds really powerful and strong like a V10 at 4k rpms or more!!!
...ok ok.. not like a V10.. but... ya'll know what I mean right?! ....lol

I say spend the extra $ and get an RSR Exmag. I think mozzandharb said something about it.

What I discribed, was a suggestion. I'm driving with a MagnaFlow Cat back on a 5th Gen SE.
I have no pictures of what I discribed. The only give away that you'd done anything would be an oversized 2 1/4" chrome tip (if you wanted) sticking out the back.

Sorry man, no pics of the exhaust on my car. Check out Apex-i's website for some pics of the exhaust. Although it isn't pictured on a car on the site, hopefully it'll give you an idea.
I paid $410 for mine from a local shop.

fw has a rsr, so you might want to ask him about it. Going the custom route like p adams said doesn't sound like a bad idea either. I personally have a greddy evo2, and it is way to loud, way to big, and way to expensive.

RSR is on the expensive side but one thing for sure, they sounds right and look nice.

if you looking for a sleeper setup, get some custom pipe off ktella8, he sell resonator and high flow cat also(if i am not mistaken), i would get a stock rear section off some v8 or use esoval's exhaust.

P_Adams could this be done using a EX muffler. I'm looking to redo my stock exhaust as well and would like 2 1/4 piping but would like a muffler like the EX stock muffler. Will the stock muffler still give performance gains or would it be better to go with a performance muffler. I'd like to keep the sound near stock but just open up the exhaust a bit to help out the intake and header I have.

The important thing to remember about sound control is expansion. An effective muffler is of sufficient size that it can contain the exhaust gasses inside as they expand. That's why Larger mufflers are more throaty as opposed to Smaller flow-thru types (that allow no volume for expansion) are raspier.
If you went the 2 1/4" piping route, and grafted an EX dual outlet muffler to it, you would negate any advantage the larger pipes had given you. (The muffler now becomes the restricted component).

Just take my original diatribe, and substitute " 2 1/4 inlet / Dual 2" outlet" for the earlier muffler description, throw a couple of chrome tips on it, and no-one will be the wiser.

If you insist on the stock noise level, look for a double wrapped S/S Baffled Muffler, NOT a Flow-Thru fiberglass packed version (It's nothing more than a glorified "Glass-Pack" muffler (a pipe with holes)

P_Adams; thanks for the help. That's exactly what I'm going to do. Should I relpace the stock resonator with a larger/newer one?

Everything from the Converter to the Muffler should be of the same diameter for optimum results.
Resonator = 2 1/4 inlet / 2 1/4 outlet.

A competent shop will know what you want.

Ive got a built F22B1 (soon boosted) With no cat, a Matrix header, custom 1 piece 2.25 " exhaust with a resonator in the stock location, and a Magnaflow 14807. It sounds really nice...Deep, and I dont get pulled over any more.

Here is a pic:

http://images.marketworks.com/...7.jpg

The thing I highly reccomend is the resonator, after I had the exhaust put on, It was still tooo loud... probably abnormally so as I Dont have the cat - but the addition of a resonator ( i believe 2.25 " also) REALLLY helped. It sounds healthy and throaty (deep). It also seems I picked up a bit of midrange after the resonator was put in...

My 2 sense

Good luck

Spike
