My tires are loosing air pressure so i'm shopping for new tires. Michellin has a 50 rebate on any 4 tires right now so its a good deal but how good are Michellin tires? I heard they are over priced.

I have had nothing but GREAT experiences with Michelins. But they are expensive. In this case, however, I think you are getting what you pay for. I won't be able to afford them next time around, and am disappointed about that...

michelins are expensive for a reason.... if you want a great ride, great handling, NO PROBLEMS, and long treadlife, then michelin is what you want. i agree that they are a lil overpriced, but they are the best you could possibly buy.

yea they're good. i had some original equipment on my 2000 integra, they lasted about 40k miles, and i have some on my 2003 accord with 15k miles, they still look new- the handling and ride are superior also!!

my accord has 108k so would it be wise to go with good michelin? I'm thinking that since my car is old, its best to buy tires that won't outlast my engine. Goodyear? Bf?

They are a durable tire and more puncture resistant than goodyear and the lesser grade BFGoodrich's (BFG is owned by Michelin). However they're not a performance tire. You pay out the *** for the H and V rated Michelin's and personally I don't like their tread. The passenger tires last forever but won't cut it if your car calls for H or V.

Check out the new Hydroedge tire they got (only S and T rated), argueably the best passenger tire out there. They rock in the snow and rain. Look around though. My roomate just traded in his Hydroedges for some Falken (sp?) tires that were half the price and H rated that he claims are a smoother ride.

Hope this helps. If you're just cruising the highway definitely Michelin is your tire, if you want more don't waste your money.

have some all seasopns right now with only 1/16" tread left and it still grips well, not really on wet. too much sidewall flex but its also not a racing tire, lol.

I think that there are other tires out there that are very high quality at a much lower price. I ususally don't even consider michelins because they are so damn expensive. Last time I bought tires, they were almost 2 times as expensive as the yokohamas I bought. i can't imagine they are 2 times better. especially considering how happy I am with the yoks.

I got 90,000 miles out of my last set of Michelins on my '94 EX. When I started hydroplaning on the expressways during rain storms, was when I finally decided to get new tires. Michelins are great!

A good set of Michelins will last a long time if you take care of them. Just because your car has 108k doesn't mean you should by lesser tires, unless you don't plan on keeping the car very long. If you plan to keep the car, you might wind up buying two sets of other tires versus one set of Michelins. Take a look at tirerack.com for professional rating information. The MXV4s are popular OEM tires. I've run MXV4s on my 95 Accord EX and nothing else. I will be switch to another brand when it's time to upgrade to 17x7 wheels.
