Default mandrel piping/exhaust vs. stock

I am lookign to buy 2.5" mandrel piping and getting a custom exhaust and have heard many things when comparing to stock engine... what differences am i going to notice if i have a stock engine for a 1995 honda accord EX (auto) 4 dr.? will it do much more if i have intake, cat converter, and headers? please give me your advice as to what i should do and if it's really worth putting in custom exhaust system. thanks!

2.5 inch pipe is too big for your car and exhaust don't really gain you much power especially if this is your first mod.

you'd be better off getting an intake first. then get an exhaust later when it rots out or if you want it for sounds or look or as the next step towards other mods like a header.

i have an intake and the headers will be here next week...if i get the exhaust and piping, i would get that in like a month. so i would have everything you said i should have before getting an exhaust, unless you suggest doing another mod before getting the full exhaust. thanks!

I got a mandrel bent mid pipe after I had a CAI and axel back section. There seemed to be a big difference at the top end power, though that could just be for it being louder then.

After the cat. there's a pipe that goes back to about the rear axel, then is the last pipe section with the muffler. I orginally got just that last section (axel back) from top speed, then got the mid section done from a local shop. Haven't touched the cat. or header yet.

you emailed me with that question...which is the wrong person....

you can get it done at a muffler shop around your town, much cheaper.

it costed me 80 dollars.

They uninstalled the stock pipe, took the 2.25" piping bending it to its fittment, and installing it onto my car with the muffler i had on there. no secondary muffler.

from cat on back was the piping and the muffler...sounds loud...

auto = worthless

you probably won't notice a damn thing because that tranny absorbs all power.

it was for my honda turbo which iam also selling for an f22 or h23 series motor. its 2.5 inch no cats just piping bent to fit my 92 accord ex but i bet it will fit your car. i had big exhaust on it but sold it so its just straight piping now. i think i paid 250 for it but i would take 200 or maybe 175 do to the fact it was only used a week
anywayz hit me back at my email taz619@aol.com if ur still interested

not really. well, yeah it is, but... A gain at the motor is a gain at the wheels.

Anyway, no matter the tranny, you won't really notice a real difference in power. You'll think it's faster than it was just because it's louder. But I would definitely go ahead and do it.
