Lowering springs\coilovers 94 accord ex sedan
Hey i'm thinking about lowering my 94 accord ex 4dr sedan
i'm just wondering about whats better springs or coilovers?!
and will i need all new struts and shocks and all them gadgets if i do decide to lower my accord sometime soon?!
i don't wanna go too low, cause the roads around here r bad, but i just find its sitting too high, maybe 2inch drop?!
im also on a tight budget and don't wanna go too crazy, i just want some affordable springs\coilovers, something thats not going to mess up my car haha
thanks

coilovers/sleeves = harsh ride but adjustable
springs = bit more comfortable
ive decided to go either h&r or eibach sport

ok thanks
now what a about a set of coilovers or springs off ebay?!
is there any i should look out for?! or do they all do the same thing?!
and also how hard would it be to install those yourself?!
or would you reccommed a garage or my local honda dealer to install them?!
thanks

i would say if you plan on using your original shocks goe with actual springs. as most coilover springs ride pretty bouncy, especially ebay ones. the springs will ride a bit smoother. when you do it make sure you have a spring compressor.

Re: (accord0494)
depends on what type of springs you get i guess, to me kyb Gas shocks is practically oem with just a slight stiffness, and a few springs are designed to be compatible with them...
but you should get some new/ used shocks along with the springs, check whoaitslen2, i just purchased his springs off him, and he had a pair of kyb agx's for under 2 bills. and benn2k has a full suspension setup for 4bills h&R's with blisteins...

Re: (Mike813)
I got the tokico illumina-r coilovers. I love them b/c they are height and dampening adjustable. The ride is unbelievable. But they are a bit pricy compared to just springs. So if your budget is a little tight, go w/just the springs then.

Re: (accord0494)
yeah, i wouldnt go with coil overs. i had coilover and got rid of them because the ride sucked. i drove with cut springs on stock shocks for about 5 years on my accord(i purchased it in 98) and the car still had the stock ride quality. then i put the eiback sports on and i didnt like that they only lowered the car 1 1/2 inches, so i got rid of those and purchased neuspeed race springs with koni yellow adjustable shocks. the ride quality is great and i can switch from firm to soft settings. and the hieght is also adjustable.
i would base the type of spring/shock combination on what you want from the car. if you are only doing it for looks, then just get a good set of springs. if you do a 2 inch drop you should replace your shocks though. if you plan on drag racing or auto-x, then get a set of adjustable shocks as well. coilovers are good for the track, but suck for everyday driving.

i'd like to get something that i could lower for the spring\summer so a nice set of rims would like nice on it, and not have those big gaps in the wheel wells!! haha
but when old man winter comes along and snow and all that jazz, id like to have the car back to its normal height or what not?!
hmmm... haha so i'm not sure yet, im on a tight budget, so i don't want nothing too crazy in price, but something thats going to work and not mess up my car haha

Re: (accord0494)
i would do it yourself for sure. i can imagine labor on something like that would be ludicris. its very easy and straight forward, probably taking only a day to complete your first time through.
