This is my first post so forgive me if Im using the wrong format.

I've had this Honda for 4 years now and Ive ignored the AC but its time to fix it. I took it to a local Honda/Acura repair shop, told them that I need the AC checked and fixed. They recharged the car with freon and dye to determine leaks(charged 193.56). Took it back today(two weeks later) and they determined that there is a leak in the evaporator and in the expansion valve. They estimated around 600 dollars for the repairs. What should I do? I checked at Oreilly's and Advanced for parts and it would come out at about 120 for the parts. I was also told that the evaporator is located beneath the dash. If I were to repair myself how would I access the evaporator? Does anyone have any manuals or guides to access it or to take apart the dash to locate it?

Any help will be appreciated it. Thank you.

Discharge the system and replace the parts. Vacuum the system and recharge.

djkurious, do you have a manual of how to replace the evaporator or possibly a diagram/video?

Do you have a repair manual?
Evaporator is located under your glove compartment and the valve should be with it. Very easy
to replace.
