Just got a 95 Lx Accord
Been on here for awhile but never really posted, I drive a RSX-S but that's not the point, my girlfriend just got a 95 Lx Accord as her first car, not bad at all its in good condition for its age, I can tell the original owner did some modding with of course the paint job, the clear bumper and corner lights and an intake, 150k on engine, interior in good shape, and we got it for $2400. Here's a pic, and I know its in need of some rims, but my girlfriend doesn't want to mod anything at all but I'll persuade her some day:
Well main point of this story is when we start the ignition it makes the noise it would make if the car was already on and you try to start it, you know the screeching noise, I was wondering if anyone knows what could be the possible cause? Any help would be appreciated. Also what do you guys think about the tail lights on it? Here's a pic:
I'm an oem/jdm type of guy so I was thinking about finding some oem ones and putting them back in but I've gotten use to them.

maybe the starter is not engaging the gear teeth on the flexplate
or the starter's plunger isn't pushing out the gear to the flexplate
gotta do a visual check on both gear teeth on the starter & flex to be sure (heck, may as well bench test it too) shrugs
off topic:
did the previous owner change out the timing belt set recently too? that way, you can be sure of that vehicle's mechanical health to be good to the driver for at least another 5 years...
for the lights: your car/ your taste/ do whatever you like to them!

Re: (NGUSPEED)
Nice clean color. I like it. If it's for the wife don't worry about the tail lights. Make sure you do a Complete Tune Up (Oil Change, New Spark Plug Wires, Spark Plugs, Filter) , Cap & Rotor for Distributor, Drain Tranny Fluid and Fill, Check suspension, Brakes. Check timing belt, if it needs changed buy the water pump, timing belt, balancer belt.
