Nope! I won't have the chance too ether. The 46mm throttles are now going to be run on another engine. If you were to look around there are quite a few builds where even the 50mm TWM ITB's were found to be the choke point. On a dyno!

46mm is 46mm and 54mm is 54mm that's the verified difference.

Agreed!!

Would have liked to know the hard figures though.

Anyway, for my application, a full-on race motor, bigger is better!!

hey im new to this forum but i just got a 96 accord wagon ex with a f22 vtec obd2. it has a blown tranny so im going to get a h22 motor/tranny. im not doiing anything to the car as far as looks go till i hae it running. but before i swap the motor i want to get all bolts possible. if anybody could help me out with a link or list of bolt ons they have or recommend that would awesome! i new to the whole engine swapping thing so im a NOOB and am learning as i go with it.

i was thinking about mp1a tranny with the h22 but am not sure what issues i will run into. theres a guy on ebay with one but still am confused as to what i need or whether or not i should get a h23 tranny or h22 tranny for the h22a motor. im keeping it obd2 for inspection purposes.

Hi Bigbpatel,

I wish I could help you out but I deliberately chose the F20B over the H22 because it has more to offer for a full race motor.

I am sure that the others on here can help as they have a wealth of knowledge on the h22.

Cheers,
Tricky

The F20B has less displacement and less support in the aftermarket arena when it comes to a fully built race motor. I don't see very many F20B purpose built race motors on the track. To each his own though, So good luck with the F20B build

bigpatel,

There are numerous H22 build threads and swap threads that you would look through. Sorry I don't have the time to show you exactly where they are though. Good luck with your research!

And that is unfortunate I reckon, as I regard them as a great motor. I am using the F20B as I need to keep under the 2.0 litre rule, or get bumped up to where the big boys play!!

Cheers,
Tricky

yup I had that lil twist in mine. I used to rail my buddies with the h22 trans with pretty much the same add ons. Especially on the highway

Patel, this MP1A of mine is not H22A or H23A specific. The manual transmissions do have an H23A1/F22B variety (M2S4) and an H22A variety (M2A4/M2B4/M2F4/M2Y4) but the automatics do not. So there is no difference in the transmissions, gearing-wise.

Had you gotten an automatic H23A1 Prelude in the States it would have come with an MP1A non-LSD transmission. If you bought an automatic Prelude in Japan with either the F22B or H22A then it would have come with an MP1A as well. In a few cases they were LSD.

I hope I was able to clear that up for you.
