Re: inspecting timing belt (PearlWhiteAccord)
What is your mileage? Change interval is 90K if I recall for your year, 105K for newer models. Visual inspection is not foolproof. Timing belt have glass belts inside that weaken with age, a visual inspection will not show you that at all. You need to remove the belt, twist it to listen for cracking of the glass belts inside. Obviously, if you are doing that, you ARE changing it regardless.
If you see the belt by inspection and it "looks" bad, rounded teeth, etc. then it must go, but if the teeth are perfect that does not mean it is OK. I did mine at 90K and 185K in my 1991 Accord. Both belts "looked" perfect, but..... it's your motor!?
I have not done a 1994, but you do have to remove the valve cover to inspect the belt on a 1991, I have a 1998 now, and I also beleive you must remove the valve cover to see the belt.
