Default i'm hoping you guys know accords well :)

i'm a newbie on here and i'm loking for a honda accord to purchase. Iwould like a 2000-2002 honda accord. I would like the 3.0L Vtec 6 cylinder motor, but I will not compromise on the transmission, it has to be manual. I have been unable to locate a honda accord in that model range (I think it's a 6th gen or something) with the following options.

1. V6 motor
2. manual transmisison
3. EX trim
4. 2dr coupe

I remember when they first came out with this sick body style, they did not offer the a V6/manual option (and the V6s were relegated to EX models only), but I'm not sure (I could have sworn hearing about it) that later models were offered in V6/MT form.

I found this one accord that's supposively V6/MT, but i can't find a vin decoder for 1998 and up hondas to verify this.

actually, if that car was black with leather interior with a sunroof, it would be perfect.

can multiple people verify whether or not I could get a 1999-2002 honda accord EX (or SE/DX optioned up) with the V6 motor and manual transmission?

The best you can do is either swap in a transmission from a CL type S or just buy a CL type S.

Like above, there is no manual V6 from that generation, although I wish there was, the transmissions were crap.

The 6th gen never came with a manual tranny for the V6. However if you want a newer on the 03" (7th gen) and up accord V6's have a 6 spd manual that is bad ***. Def. worth looking at.

you can just swap in the 6 speed transmission from 3.2 tl type s for a pretty penny...other than that you are out of luck for the manual tranny v6...

Why bother with a 6th gen and a troublesome transmission swap when a 7th gen coupe v6 has a 6 speed manual Sheesh, just go buy the 7th gen. Some people want to do this and that but if they think about the cost and time and money involved they would reconsider once it is too late and they are stuck.

You might be able to find a used 7th gen v6 manual for that matter if cost was an issue. Just remember to factor in the cost of the 6th gen + cost of labor/swap/parts and also going from auto to manual isnt a walk in the park either when the ECU is concerned. Theory is much different from practice... just search on this board for auto to manual and see what kind of problems come up.

Either way its your money and time, make the choice you want. Personally I would go with a 7th gen v6 6 speed since it has great power, is newer, more likely to have less miles if bought used, and save myself on the headache and extra expense of doing a swap. BTW, just in case you didnt know 7th gen is 03+ model years.
