Default Identify where the leak comes from

Hey there. I'm doing some maintenance on the car and saw this leak. It's hard to get a good shot of it, but this is the best I can do...

Engine is F22B1

My guess: VTEC solenoid gasket. Maybe.

That rubber hose is the heater hose that goes to the heater core. Pretty dried up, but seems new.

Shot from the top. Leaks onto the automatic cooling lines.

Sorry for the bad pix, but can anyone deduce where it is coming from? Common problem maybe? Thanks!

Your guess is probably right. I own a 1994 accord EX VTEC Manual which is leaking from that solenoid and I do hear it is a common problem with this engine. I would start there first.

Nope, there would be oil all over the back of the block if that was the case. Pull off your distributor cap and see what you find. The O-ring on the outside tends to go bad, and also the oil seal on the distributor shaft leaks as well. If there is oil inside you dizzy that's where it's coming from.

Mine is leaking in the same spot. I had the o ring in my dizzy replaced and is still leaking. I'm going to try the gaskets on the solenoid next. This may sound dumb, but could i just replace the #10 gasket only? I haven't figured out how to get to the #12 gasket on the head itself. I read on another thread that the coolant needs to be removed. Can you confirm? Thanks.
