I kno this is beat to the ground, but Sportlines + daily driver ?
Ive been searching the mess outta this forum and over at 6thgenaccord.com and even posted over there about it, didn't get alot of response though... anyways...
Are Sportlines just TOO much drop for a DD with 17s and 215/45 tire? I know I'll need a camber kit and shocks (prolly koni blues?). Looks and Ride Quality are 1 and 2... coilovers are out of the question, money, and I have no idea how to set them up right, and I don't want that hassle. Are the Koni shocks the best bet for me or is their a more affordable option that won't kill ride quality? Handling isn't the biggest issue.
I went with 17s for the explicit reason that I'd want to drop my car and not worry about rubbing and to try and maintain some ride quality. And I wanna drop my car... but I'd hate for it to ride like a shopping cart.
Educate me Please?

I'm trippi'... I don't know JACK about this whole springs and coilovers and shocks thing (as in, all the hot stuff and what's not hot, i've done my research on what I want parts wise, I just don't know names)...
I meant the Tokico blues... are those any good? I saw them on Ebay, they aren't too expensive...
How hard is it to put shocks and springs on? I have NEVER done anything similar to this... should I take it to my local shop (that I trust, and they always cut me a deal) to have them do this all?

Re: (cliffsta)
I had Blues with GC springs that came with my car when I bought it.I didn't know what was good and what wasn't(still not 100% sure). The guy who had the car before me obviously didn't know what the hell he was doing either, because he had the car really low and subsequently, the shocks blew.I couldn't get any help from anyone about what the hell was wrong with my suspension,so I just bought full coilovers.I know K Sport is hated by many, but I have to say that they have been really great for me.I don't take my car to the track or anything so they work great for daily driving and just zippin' around.I don't think that I will ever go back to a sleeve over setup again, but that's just me and my two cents worth.

Re: (Zerophase)
Coilovers are out of the question B/C its a daily driver, and I know the ride quality of them is noticeably stiffer, and the roads down here SUCK... not to mention setup and whatnot would be a pita.
I'm getting the impression here and at 6G.com that Sportlines have horrid ride quality and nobody wants to tell me that. My local shop said they aren't for me b/c my car is a DD and our roads suck so bad. They recommended Prokit and to call it a day. They can get them dirt cheap and put them on for what I'd pay for Sportlines alone (on my own, of course).
So I think I'm teetering back to Prokits again. Boatlook and all

Coilovers are adjustable, why would adjustability be out of the question

Because I don't NEED adjustability, I'm not Racer Rick... i'm Daily-Driving Doofus. Why spedn the god-awful money on a decent set of coilovers when all i'm tryying to do is look cool without killin my ride quality.

Well I'm startin to think its gonna be Pro-Kits for me. I've been looking around and the "boat look" doesn't seem to be happening on sedans like it does on coupes, I guess because the body is that much longer between the wheelwells, the visual effect is lessoned. Plus, cost and ride quality.
Thank y'all for the advice and knowledge, I'm tryin' to step up my Honda game, one bit of trivia at a time. Once I upgrade my brakes at the end of the month, I'll save up for the Pro-kit, pics are promised
Thanks again.

OK. when i first wanted to lower my car this is how i was thinking as well. I checked on ebay forever and found some good deals. Now i dont know what year or any information about your car but i lowered my car 1.8in with votgland lower springs and i have KYB GR2. the KYB GR2 come stock on most Nissan 240SX and i do bottom out sometimes but without a doubt they are not stiff and they make my car look HELLA lower. my wheels on the other hand are stock EX rims. probably 15s i would assume so with 18s you would sitting higher. Good luck

This is ONE of the reasons why adjustability is useful.

Re: (Bruce Banner)
Except that 1. I lack the know-how to adjust the things 2. Its not a matter of "Turn **** here to adjust rideheight and quality" 3. Price of DECENT coilovers by themselves is $600+ versus the $250~ for ProKit, installed by my local shop.
Unlike most everybody else here, I don't have carstands or a decent jack and stands. I don't have a garage. I share my driveway with three other people. I can't just throw it up and wham adjust them on a whim, I don't have that sorta time / capability. I'm still learning my way around this car. My first post definately says I am not going with coilovers. They are out of the question. I was trying to get opinions of the ride quality of Sportlines on a D.D. b/c searching didn't yeild much info.

Re: (cliffsta)
If the street are bad where you live and you don't have the freedom of adjustablility, then you might regret it.I understand that money is an issue but you should really do some more research and save your money up.If you decide that you still just want lowering spring and nothing more, then you'll have some extra money to put into other things that you might feel needs improving.
I had a crap *** set up when I got my car and I didn't know squat. After probably over four months of research and saving, I finally got what suits my needs.Unfortunately, once you start it seems like there is no end to different things to do to your car,so be prepared for what ever may come up next. And remember, you always want to do whatever you are doing right the first time or you will just end up paying more for it later.
That's my two cents.

Then you got a reason, but next time just say that.
