Door lock situation
Okay, I know most people are thinking "Oh no, not another door lock thread! It's the actuator!" Well, this one is a little different. I just bought the car a couple of weeks ago. The door lock has worked fine since it was bought in 98. Well last night, I tried to lock the doors with my keyless entry and all of them locked except the passenger front door. I IMMEDIATELY came home and looked on here and I feared the worst reading about everyone needing new door lock actuators. I called my dad and asked him if he heard anything about door locks in Honda's and he told me where he had seen a TSB on Honda door locks and the computer "going to sleep". He told me that if you turned the car off, set the intermittent wiper selection to right in the middle and turned the key back on that it would work. I tried it and SURE ENOUGH it worked... for about 5 minutes. Then the whole thing happened again and wouldn't fix even with the weird "waking up" procedure. A minute ago when I got home, I tried it again and it worked again and has kept working even after i turned the car off. I guess we'll see how long it lasts this time. I guess I typed all this to say: Has anyone had this problem and heard of the TSB on this? It seems to work but my computer must be really sleepy lol...

Never heard of that, and to be honest I'm pretty skeptical about it. My front passenger door lock still works on occasion, but rarely now. When I first started having problems with it, it worked about 50% of the time. Now, it only works 1% of the time. I'm getting plenty of power to the actuators, so I know I need to replace them. (I say "them" because it's now both the front and rear passneger doors.)

I think you gave it to my Dad lol..... on batauto.com... Anyways, after I did it last night, it fixed it. It's been working all day today perfectly, fingers crossed it stays that way...

The actual actuators should be cheap. Less then $20. Some of the time the rod that the actuator pushes comes loose from the door lock and needs to be retightened. I would for sure check that first as that was the problem with mine.

yeah, much nicer website; they don't allow smart mouth punk children to get out of hand over there. All the admin are REAL techs, not people with good 'kill' stories.
