The above part number is for the front engine mount (also known as torque rod) for a 1992 LX Coupe Manual Tranny.

My question is that is it supposed to come with the 2 rubber heat shields that go between the bolts? Mines did not and it came inside a Honda plastic bag. Can someone please confirm this. I just want to be sure I got a Genuine Honda part not some knockoff.

Does anyone has an actual photo of the part?

I'll post pic tomorrow. I don't think the heat shields come w/ the motor mount. And yes, they come in bags w/ honda labels on them; no box or anything.

Okay. Now here is a picture of what I received. There are no rubber heat shields included.






The RED areas is basically what is holding the bolt hole. The BLUE area serves no purpose is I believe is just part of the molding process. And the YELLOW area is just very thin rubber also part of the molding process that is not supporting or holding anything.

To be honest......it does not seem very high quality to me.

According to the exploded diagrams at Majestic Honda, it says that it is supposed to come with 2 heat shields. Shouldn't the bolt hole be supported by more than just the blue area. It seems like after I install it, it will need replacing in a couple of months.

Yup thats a perfectly stock mount. They are built that way and not solid in order to reduce NVH. Unfortunately they also wear out faster because there is so little rubber there.

not according to the part # you gave. the part # that includes the heatshields is 50830-SM4-A81, 50837-SM4-010 and 50837-SM4-020 are the part #s for the heatshields.

i'm going to venture to say that your specific vehicle does not have the heatshields... did you have them when you removed ur old one?

when i look up your car in the parts catalog, you can not select the heat shields for the front mount.

Currently the torque rod mount on my car does have heat shields. But the mount looks like an aftermarket mount and I wanted to replace it with a Honda mount. I bought the car 2 weeks ago and the rod mount is totally shot.

Who do the automatic models have heat shields and the manuals do not? Wouldnt heat shields help in any case, regardless of the type of transmission.

well if that mount in a honda bag is an aftermarket piecxe it owuld be the first time i have seen an aftermarket honda engine mount for an accord.

That is an mount for an automatic CB accord. We call those "staybars" at work.. the manual mount is a u-shaped jobbie that bolts directly onto the front cross member.. they are exactly the same as a Ba4/5 Prelude. :D
