I need to find a used engine for a 98 accord. I've read some about matching the 6th digit of the VIN and some say that as long as its a 3, 5, or a 6 then it will fit.

What does this number of the VIN mean and what are the differences. Mine is a 5. Can a buy an engine with a 3 or a 6?

Lastly, how do I know if my car has a ULEV engine or not? I recall a sticker on the window that says low emissions vehicle (not ultra) but I live in Missouri. Does the VIN indicate this with certainty?

F23A1, if you grab one of those you should be fine.
