vtec, not vtech.
i was able to put a f22b1 into my 92 accord (f22a6). not sure how much extra work you'll need because car is OBD-I, but new motor is OBD-II.

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
how different is the OBD-II motor from the OBD-I motor. extra sensors, etc?
not to steal thread,
but when i bought my jdm f22b (vtec), i couldnt figure out which OBD it was, but it runs fine, no CEL, so i kind of assumed that it didnt matter which OBD it was.

the 94 is obviously OBD-1 and the 97 is OBD-2, you will need to manually rewire it or buy a conversion harness to switch the engine from OBD2 to OBD1. Most likely the easiest way is going to pick up an OBD-2 engine harness and use it for the engine, then use that conversion harness right at the ECU. Meaning the ECU needs to be OBD1.

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
i ment it in a good way....that why i put the #$%%^^^& signs.........im sorry for the comment....the buddy her need to post up pics and that way we can help better...i did couple of f22 cars....and some were f23 from 03 accords which they are obd2b so.....all i used out of the new motor was just block and head.......i learn something out of honda-tech and it is "make it simple on yourself".....there are many ways to with this.....but in this case the old ecu works perfect and the less sensor your ecu has....the better.....so all you need to do DARK BOLIN is buy yourself one of those gasket kits out of ebay(buy the OEM head gasket, dont use the one that comes with the kit) and change most of the gaskets on the new motor.....crank and camshaft gasket(make sure you get the viton ones.....those are like marron color ones) and for the old intake mani.....is the best manifold you can use......make sure you tide everything to the right torque and you be back on the road in no time....good luck

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
no they aren't
i hear that with the f22b1 motor, the f23 intake mani swap is the best choice available, unless you want to go the h23 route, but that involves some fabricating (cutting, grinding, etc).

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
Code 22 is VTEC system malfunction, check your connections to the VTEC solenoid.
Code 41 is HO2 Sensor. Test the oxygen sensor, possibly needs a replacement. These codes were found in the FAQ section, so if you have anymore arise, check there.

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
What difference is it going to make when we all get the point in VTEC. lol Everything from a 94 to 97 motor are the same; everything is mostly straight forward except that the new motor might have some extra connectors such as the crank angle sensor, etc.

Re: HELP IN A F22 SWAP
I believe the OP was just saying he had CEL codes, and according to his codes, i just copied from the FAQ.
What's the problem with saying that?
