Icon2 HELP!! 97 Accord SE OBD Code P1753

Hi all

I have searched the web and found many different directions to go on this code (P1753), however none of them seem to agree on what the problem is or even could be. Can someone please give me a direction to go and the first 3 to 4 step to take to track down this problem?

Thanks all

Four references to the Lock Up Solenoid. P1753 (Automatic Transmission concerns).
I'd make a mental note if it is indeed working then
inspect the wiring and connectors to the solenoid packs mounted on the transmission Case.

like it was mentioned it is an issue with the lock up solenoid valves assembly,, make sure that the connection is good, wiring is good, if ok ,, disconnect the plug ( 2 wire plug ) chk the resistance at solenoid where the yellow wire goes into the solenoid and body ground should be 14-25 ohms.. if out of specs replace solenoid

Honda Tech Forms

The issue to the P1753 Code is one of the Transmission Solenoid. The liner pressure shift lock Solenoid has a short circuit or malfunction and is what is causing the (D4 light to blink) its one of the easiest things in the world to fix people think that you have to change the TCM or something like that well its not.

Tools required fixing this problem
10 MM ratchet
Carburetor cleaner (spray)

Step.1
What you’re going to do is locate the shift lock solenoid which is below the distributor cap.

Step.2 next is taking the 10 MM remove the three bolts that are holding the solenoid. Get a small rag because it’s going to leak a little bit.

Step.3 next is what your going to do is take carburetor cleaner and sprays in the solenoid

Step.4 you’re going to have to have an air compressor and blow air into the solenoid for a good min or two until all the transmission fluid is clean and looks clean

Step.5 put the solenoid back into where you took it out off

Step.6 disconnect the battery after you connected the solenoid

Step.7 wait about 30 second then plug the battery back
Step.8 turns on the car and see what happens no more check engine light and the D4 light should not be blinking anymore. “PROBLEM SOLVED”

Is there something besides the ECU, the lock up solenoid and the wires connecting them that would give a check engine code reading of 1753 (lock up system)? A transmission shop told me that the entire transmission was bad and there were problems with the torque converter.......my question is would internal problems ( if indeed they are there) would they give a reading from the check engine system codes? or am i being BS'ed

Limp mode your car is in.
P1753 is for TC clutch solenoid valve.
Recheck any recent work, then move onto the TCC solenoid valve.
