Heater Blower. Something a little different
Hello Everyone,
I've searched and searched but cannot find an answer to my situation.
I've had a 91 Accord for 20 years. Bought it brand new. I helped our Son buy 2, 91 Accords. So, I know what "normal" is. I'm 53 and have been working on my cars for quite a few decades.
Our Son's 91 Accord LX automatic with A/C. Bought it 2 years ago.
The blower motor sounds like it's blowing hard, but I have very little airflow out the vents.
I have all blower speeds with the switch. So I know the blower is fine and the resistor is not the issue.
I can hear the blower load change when I go from fresh air to recirculate. So, I know that door is working.
All the vents; floor, dash, defrost change and work as they should.
I have good A/C or heat. So I know that control is working.
Like I said, the blower is turning like it should. I can tell by how it sounds. It "sounds" to me like a door/flap in the system is not moving like it should and is blocking the airflow. But, like I said above, everything moves and works like it should. Everything.
I don't think it is a blocked cowl vent because it still doesn't blow hard when in recirculate (that takes the cowl vent out of the equation).
I'd find it hard to believe that both the heater core and A/C condenser (heat and cool paths) could all-of-a-sudden be blocked by debris.
I've read a lot of posts that say removing the blower assy just to "take a look around" is a pain.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
Rick
