h22 wont mount up
hey fellas i have a problem my h22a wont mount up in my 95 ex ...i have a prelude driver side mount a 93 5 speed f22 tranny with mount (h2u5)and stock back mount and bracket ..... the problem is that when the back mount is bolted in the tranny hits the frame and the tranny mount wont mount up
question # 1 do i have to have a cd5 tranny and mount because they are different ????
question # 2 do i have to change the back bracket to and h22 one if there is a difference ???
my boy has a 95 p2u5 tranny and mount would that solve the issue ??

Re: h22 wont mount up
simple and easiest thing to do honestly go to esp and get some custom mounts and u can get them powdercoated for like nothing. i did auto-5speed swap and jdm h22a swap and i dropped in with ease.

I have question u may be able to help me with.I helped a buddy of mine do an H22a swap in a 98 4dr civic ex,we got the right mounts, shifter linkage,ECU,and rebuilt the wiring harness what looks to be correct and when we turn the key it doesnt turn over and theres a click coming from the relay box beside the battery.Ive checked for voltage at the ignition wire on the starter when the key is turned and there is 12.80 volts. My buddy said that the motor cam from japan and it was out of an accord and the ecu says it for a 2001 prelude...Im hoping u can help point me in the right directions because I dont know to much about imports Because im into old muscle cars..Im just helpin a buddy out.....let me know if u have anything..
Thanks.
Thanks.

What you have to do is remove the lower suspension member that runs from front to back and then lower the tranny side first(you're going to put the hoist chain so that the tranny side is drooping down low) so that you can get the drivers side lined up and then use a jack to raise the transmission side back up to bolt up the mount. Make sure you put something in between the jack and the tranny so you don't damage anything.
Otherwise it's a bitch to get the driver side to make it in as you wind up banging the crank pully all to hell. If you don't remove that member you won't be able to lower the tranny side enough to get it to clear the mount bracket. It is possible if you choose not to remove it but you have to use a crowbar to wedge the crank pulley to get the engine to fall in. It's really not worth not removing the member. Just remove it.
You can use all accord mounts with the exception of the drivers side that needs to be a prelude mount(I believe).
