H22 turbo swap into 01 accord lx coupe.
i wanted to start this thread because i havent seen too many people do this swap or much info on them, atleast online. well basically im doing this for a friend of mine and he wanted to swap the h22 in and also turbo it, on a small budget. ive done alot of swaps but this is only the second 98-02 accord with an h22. Now we all know he could have done this to the old engine and there are all kinds of options he could have gone with, but this is the one he wanted, so this is what we are going to do. Also he wants it to look nice and not look ghetto or cheap looking, which is also a problem because we know you get what you pay for and cheap things dont fit right and you tend to run into various issues. well with that said i will be posting pictures very soon of what i have done so far and what i have done to make this work and why. feel free to ask questions, i will also post what parts i used for the swap along with other info.

You should convince your friend to just throw an H22a head on the F block so that you don't have to deal with the FRM liners. It won't be as drop-in as a whole "new" engine, but it'll be more effective for boost.
Good luck. Do post progress on all that you guys end up doing.
If you aren't already, use something like photobucket to store the pictures and then link them from there.

I did my setup for less then 2500k on stock f23 block and head. Tuner was able to get 10 lbs out of mine. if your going anymore your going to need a built bottom end 2500K+ not sure what your budget is though. an h22 will add another 1-2k to the price.

No that's a fair question I suppose. Gotta make sure everyone's on the same page.

As you can see, they are found in the H-series and a few other engines.
People often resleeve H-series blocks (or now use F-series blocks) so that they don't have to deal with material issues. It's user choice whether they want to resleeve, go with an F-series block, or try the MAHLE pistons, they just need to know all the facts.
NOTE: You do not need to replace the pistons just because you are boosting. Just like with any engine, that is only required if you are pushing enough power to where a "ka-boom" moment is likely to happen.
