Grinding noise when I accelerate car

Grinding noise when I accelerate car
I have a problem with my Accord EX V6 where a grinding noise starts when I accelerate my car. When I lift my foot from the accelerator the noise stops. I've noticed that the car makes the noise at the lower speeds, but reduces when I reach the higher speeds.
I have read other sites about other car makes regarding this problem. Some have suggested that it could be either a broken heat shield or a broken exhaust gussets. Has anybody encountered this problem? If yes, was it the heat shield or exhaust gussets?
Any information on the repairs and costs would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Check all the exhaust shields. Either a shield is too close (and hitting) or has loosened (broken weld) like on the converter.

Re: Grinding noise when I accelerate car
my car grinds for a split second sometimes when i accelerate from a stop but its due to the cheap local auto parts axles. not sure if that's your issue.

Exhaust manifold Shield. Corrosion
Converter Heat Shields. 3 incidents of broken welds
Intermediate Pipe Shields. 2 incidents of Shield interference.
Muffler Shield. Multiple issues with corrosion.
Missing hangers
etc.

Re: Grinding noise when I accelerate car
Hi guys,
I'm having a similar issue with my Accord 98 V6L (175,000 kms).
Started hearing a scraping noise day before yesterday coming from somewhere in the front left side. The noise is ONLY produced when im ACCELERATING. The moment I take my foot off the pedal, it goes off no matter how fast I am going (20,60,80 kmh). The sound is undeniable at slow speeds and faint at higher speeds probably because of engine roaring.
The noise started coming day before yesterday. Initially, it was only sporadic. It wasn't always there when accelerating. But after driving for two days, the noise doesn't go away when accelerating.
I've googled it and got multiple answers. Brake pads, rotors, wheel bearing, and heat shield.
Can anyone help me out in diagnosing the issue? Any local tests I can do to narrow it down?
Thanks heaps!!
