Default Good front struts? 98' Accord V6.

To start, I searched and check the faq. Only found a bunch of custom posts.

Basically my front struts are in need of replacing. Just wanted to know which brand, for stock struts, are the most durable and long lasting. I'm leaning towards these KYB's http://www.rockauto.com/catalog/moreinfo.php?pk=502904 over the 3 different monroe's they have at auto stores and online.

Any opinion would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

P.s. It's a sedan, if that somehow affects anything.

KYB GR-2's are OEM equivalents. If you have no want for performance or anything like that then I'd suggest them. I had them on my car for awhile and they were just fine.

If you want something a touch more sporty you want want something like Koni Reds

Thanks for the response.

Also, the springs have 130,000 on them, they should do fine on new struts right?

Yeah personally I don't see a need if you're staying at stock heights to change out the springs at all.

Would you notice a difference? Maybe, not worth the money though haha.

I personally use Tokico Blue as my OEM replacement.. No complaint at all...

If you want sport Tokico Illumina (white) is an excellent choice...

I just replaced mine on my 98 accord and used the monroe sensatrack. It made a difference but I think my springs are shot as well, I have 200k miles. It's stiffer but still feels like the suspension is shot. It could be everything else is shot too

I have a buddy in the industry and he said 100k is a typical life on honda springs and would recommend changing them on my car because apparently Honda doesn't make stock springs that well.

This just in. I am very interested in a pair of these. For the same price as the kyb's I think these might yield a better value.

Koni "Strt" struts. Course I'm weary with the stock springs, but from what I've been hearing they should be o.k.
