Default getting a "head"?

ok so ive searched and listened here and there. What I' am hearing is that on the 94-97 ex header cant really be improved upon. Personally, I have a aem intake and ws2 exhaust. Now is it true that adding a aftermarket header is really a waste of money if im just going to be n/a for awhile? If so I'd like to know so I can save my money. Thanks

Biggest thing you could probably do to a NA f series engine would probably be a cam upgrade along with a cam gear. Also upgraded to a h23 IM would help. If you have an ex your header is already a 4-2-1 (I believe) and is pretty decent compared to some aftermarket ones.

I would either get a lightened flywheel, cam and cam gear...possibly pistons and fuel management

Swapping for a prelude engine is pretty good but pricey. The UK type R runs the h22.

but what im asking is this, Is it worth 300 dollars to upgrade the ex's 4-2-1 header for an aftermarket 4-2-1 like a dc?

IMO no....I would rather spend that money on something else, you figure you're probably going to get 3-5whp and the same in tq if anything at all....

a hundred bucks per horse is ******* rediculous. You might be able to pick up a used one but that would be the only circumstance I would get one for the accord f series

Don't even get a header. Just swap the motor or get a turbo kit. OH and typeass don't **** around in here.

Well has anyone hear purchased a header for their f22b1 and regreted spending 300 on it. I dont doubt that it helps, i just am concerned its 300 bucks so i can say i have a header when it really doesnt make a damn bit of difference.

it does as long as you have some big primaries and a nicely sized collector

EX header is waaay less than 300......you can get a SS Greddy one for that money......but EX is almost as good as it gets

the problem with the EX and aftermarket headers is that even though the primaries may be larger, the collector is still around stock diamemter, so it can line up w/ the cat.......this renenders the header basically no better than stock

id rather spend the 300 on sway bars, and then one of those ebay combos (front and rear strut + rear lower tie)

you can always modify the collector to 2.5 inches.... w00t!

If you want to build up your car in many areas, then get it as you'll do it later. If you are planning to boost later, then get a cam and cam gear instead.

I just want to make sure I'm hearing you guys right. Sounds like really any after market header is going to have the same size collector , which will restrict just like stock. So basically its pointless to buy a aftermarket header for the ex model?

If you want to keep that motor and build it up i say the next thing you do to it is throw a aftermarket camshaft in it.

Exhaust is a good idea, stock is roughly 1.25" to 1.5" piping...when I put mine one I noticed decent mid range tq.

Camshaft: I have heard some people doing regrinds and getting decent performance from them or you can check out http://www.performanceaccord.com too bad I haven't heard good things from gude

Just forget the header for now, and go with the exhaust.
