Default Fuel Line(s) Replacement - 00 Accord 2.3

Hey all,
Tackled the sub frame (rear beam) replacement on my 2000 Accord over the last couple days - my oh my did it suck. While doing the work, I noticed my fuel lines are looking mighty crusty - no leaks just looking pretty gnarly. I was going to clean (or try to) a section up with a piece of emory cloth to see how bad it really is.

Living in Wisconsin though, I imagine this issue will need to be resolved before next winter.

Anybody have experience doing fuel lines on these cars or any hot tips? I have been trying to find some good resources but most that I have found call for proprietary expensive tools ( South Main Auto's Fuel line vid).

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

How are your brake lines?

Generally speaking, the brake lines will rust through way before your fuel lies will under normal circumstances. Both lines receive the same amount of water/salt in the same conditions but the fuel lines are substantially thicker due to the higher pressure they deal with. I've been working on my brake lines when I get time and they were rusted through and the fuel lines look to be in the same condition, but im not too worried. Assuming they rust through and don't start on fire you'll simply lose fuel whereas the brake lines will rid most braking power! But, for fuel line, just buy high pressure fuel line rubber hose and call it day....far easier and cheaper then running hard line but is just as good. Just make sure you use FUEL LINE HOSE clamps, NOT standard hose clamps. There IS a difference in that fuel clamps will not pinch or cut the rubber hose. Even if you ask for these, most auto parts store will give you standard clamps or just say, "regular clamps are fine".

As of now, go ahead and get a can or two of Fluid Film and apply it liberally on those hard lines before each winter.
