Fuel level sending unit
Sometimes when I come to a stop, my fuel gauge is falling past empty. As soon as I take off again, it works its way back up. I assume it's the float in the tank, but I am not sure why it would be changing level unless the fuel is sloshing forward when I stop. Does anyone know if there's a baffle in the tank to keep the fuel from sloshing and changing the gauge reading? I am thinking that my sender may be bad or maybe a baffle is broken off in the tank allowing it to slosh.
Any experiences with this? I don't want to change the sender if it's not bad. Gauge seems to be fine.

Re: Fuel level sending unit
I think it's normal, especially when the fuel level in the tank is getting low.
When driving with the back seat folded down you can actually hear the fuel slosh around in the tank.

Re: Fuel level sending unit
this definitely isn't normal, especially since it just started, and it's worked fine for 16 years. the tank is about half full now, but the needle will drop under the "E" and come back up, but very slowly, and just as slow as when I fill the tank and wait for it to get to "F". I'm starting to think the float is sticking or the slide resistor is going bad.
