Fog lights and trunk mat for 98-02 Accord Sedan
Hello Folks,
There has been something I have been wondering about on my 2001 Accord. When i bought my Accord from the Ford dealer, I noticed it had Honda OEM fog lights, complete with a switch that had the name Honda on the side (yes I looked at it when I had to get the cruise switch out) I have looked at countless 98-02 Accords on the road (you can not help it when every second car on the road in my area is a Honda), on eBay, local car dealerships and Carmax to see how many were equipped with this option. I have seen 2 (my own car and one other)
When I went over to the local Honda dealer, to order a trunk net, I noticed in the case that there was a set of Honda foglights, so I know you can buy them over the counter
So was this a dealer installed option only or could you buy the car equipped with Fog lights from the factory? Ether the car's former owner bought the car with them already on there at the dealer or he/she bought them after buying the car and had them put in, which means the owner spent a good amount on this option.
So what do you think? Was this a factory option or dealer installed option?
On the flip side, I have been eyeing up that plastic/rubber trunk mat that is sold for 1998-02 and wanted to ask if anybody has it? If so how is it? Is it worth the $40-$100 that it is being sold online and with Honda? I was thinking about buying it for both protecting my trunk carpet and also because with its grooves, it should keep stuff (like my parts/anti freeze crate) from moving around in the back whenever I make a turn
Thanks
L

Fog lights have always been a dealer option. Either installed at purchase or you can buy them separately and install yourself or have a dealer install later on.
For a rubber protector you may want to see if Weather Tech makes a rear mat, their mats are molded to the car so you get a perfect fit.

Re: Fog lights and trunk mat for 98-02 Accord Sedan
I have looked around at the MANY 6th gen accords in my area and practically none of them have OE foglights. Most have either PIAA, Hella or some crappy stuff from an auto parts store. I'm trying to find a set of NIB genuine Honda fogs for my wife's accord sedan but not having much luck. Guess I'll try the dealer? With my '95 accord wagon the dealer no longer stocked them so I had to get used. I lucked out and got a set of eBay for "cheap"....
Added: Wow, just called the dealer and they want $275 plus tax and it's special order only. Anyone know where I can find a set cheaper?

Fog lights for the Sedan: $194.40 plus shipping (it's only $126 for the coupe)
Trunk liner: $35.40

Why are the sedan fogs always more expensive than the coupe ones? I would figure people with families--who'd be more inclined to get sedans--would want safety for inclement weather. Not that it does that much here in Los Angeles, but when it does in certain areas it gets pretty bad.
