Your logic is flawed, the overall chassis of a CD5 is HEAVY, removing backseats won't accomplish much. Seems to me you want a lighter car I suggest buying something that is not heavy to begin with and venture from there

To answer your post:

You can remove the intake box and add short ram intake with a good aftermarket filter, remove power steering, A/C, relocate the battery to trunk, remove cruise control, remove ABS unit, relocate under the hood fuse box, that's all i can think of.

.

lastly
Do a swap and remain N/A (see all motor thread for HP goodness) or go turbo.

Unless you've got another car, remember to do things that won't hurt the daily usability of the car. We've got pretty hot and humid summers. I wouldn't remove the AC if it's working. Removing the back seat will keep you from driving your friends around (comfortably)

I kept all my interior, ABS, PS, AC, and everything and my CD5 is pretty monsterous for being NA. I'm very against removing interior panels and seats. What do you save? 200 lbs at most? Not worth the comfort of a full size sedan to me.

Do you plan to autocross, drag race, or just want a fun street car? Will this be a daily driver? Will you ever have a baby-on-board sign on this car at any point?

More than likely, you won't be able to pass on upgrades to another car because of their compatibility. Best thing to do is to spend money on maintaining the car. Or try to make it up to factory specs. Check the car, suspension area also for leaks or cracked boots.

No point of making the car faster by getting rid of weight. It's a slow car.

If anything, intake; SRI or CAI. But above all, maintenance is #1 on my list before modding. No point of modding if your car doesnt run anymore.

Probably the best upgrade as far as acceleration would be an M2S4 transmission. The stock transmission is geared for gas mileage and highway cruising. While you're in there throw in an Exedy OE or Stage 1 clutch and a new rear main seal

If you are going to go to all the trouble of putting a prelude tranny you should just do the whole swap.

Tune up, emissions equipment, intake, headers, exhaust. There isn't really any need to remove stuff from the engine bay. It's cramped back by the firewall yes, but there is more than enough room for whatever it is you may need to cram in there.
