Default A couple problems with my 90 Accord LX....need some help plz

Hi guys. I have a 1990 Accord LX that has a few problems and I wonder if you guys could help me out....

1.When I shift gears between Park and Reverse it sticks real badly and most of the time I have to yank it real hard with two hands to shift. Its an automatic tranny. Is this a lubrication problem or will I have to buy a new shift/gear box?

2.I have Anco brand windshield wipers that are probably 8 months old. They suck at wiping to say the least. They don't give a clean wipe and leave a ton of streaks. Cleaning doesn't seem to help much. Is this strictly a wiper blade problem or could it be a windshield problem?

3. My car looks terrible and needs cosmetic replacements (bumper, quarter panel). Are these hard to replace myself or will I definetly need a professional? I'm talking just a straight swap and not sanding, re-painting, etc.

Thanks for any help I can get! l8tr

1. The gear shifting could be due to a lack of tranny fluid but if you are having to use to hands just to shift it might be beyond a fluid issue. Just check the fluid first. There should be a little dipstick onto of the tranny.

2. Anco blades should be fine but since they are inexpensive quality they usually only last like 6 months at the most. It also sounds like you have oil on your windshield. this is usually due to the different pollutions in the air. just clean your windshield thouroghly then change your wipers.

3. The bumper and quarter panels are pretty easy to remove and the parts are readily available in the aftermarket. no professional installation is needed. pick up a service book from autozone or the honda dealership for installation guide.

1. Also a good time to flush the tranny and put new fluid in. Mine used to do that, tranny flush cleared it up.

2. In addition to what h22accordvtech said, also put some Rainx on your windshield, side windows too if you want. Works great, I dont even use my windshield wipers anymore.

3. Go with what was previously stated

You bought a honda for it's good reputation, so why turn it into a Yugo 1 part at a time with aftermarket stuff?

Could you be a lot more specific on a type/name of service book I would need to replace the cosmetic parts on my car. I checked autozone and they don't have it. I also called my local Honda dealer and they think I'm speaking gibberish or something when I describe what I need ......thanks.

You can order wiper blades that are oem that are cheaper than the dealer at:
http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com

As for the body panels, if you want NEW primed parts check out this site:
http://www.certifit.com <==they quoted me a new oem hood for 45 bucks.

I have the answer for your first problem - it sounds like you need a new shifter cable.
