Cluster Help with choosing LEDs
I will be installing my heater core in a week or so once i figure out what other parts i need. I want to change some bulbs in my cluster, so I decided on LEDs but I only want to change the backlight bulbs for the techo and speedo gauges. I looked on superbrightleds and notice there on 2 types (74 and pc195) which ones should i get and oh yeah how many bulbs are required just for the techo and speedo gauges? Another quick question i also ordered the heater core and the inlet hose, is there any other parts i need to replace while the whole dash is stripped?

Re: Cluster Help with choosing LEDs
So i decided to get 3 pc195s after watching a video on youtube about LED conversion but it was done on a 6th gen accord so its a rough estimate as the smaller ones are 74s, as for anything else that needs replacing i think imma do a full duct cleaning with some anti mold and mildew spray and hopefully thats all it needs.

Re: Cluster Help with choosing LEDs
I haven't had good luck with LEDs for backlighting, the light distribution is usually uneven. The backlights are standard 194 bulbs and 37 bulbs (the little ones). 74s are the same size as 37s, but they are higher amperage and burn out a lot more quickly.
For the climate control, one bulb is a 37, the other two are "neowedge" bulbs. I think they are T5 size but am not positive. You can get these neowedge bulbs from Mouser electronics for about $1 per bulb.

Re: Cluster Help with choosing LEDs
thanks masospaghetti for the reply, I finally figure out there is 4x194s in the back and i ordered them and right now i will be ordering 4 standards bulbs as backups just in case they fail like you mention. I think imma do that climate control aswell too to give the car a fresh look and later down the road do the courtesy and ceiling light aswell. thanks for the assist.
