Check engine Light problems
I have a 1996 Accord.. I basically created my own problem by listening to some friends. I had to change out my exaust pipes from cat. converter back to muffler. During this time.. my converter was hollowed out. yep.. anyway. After this.. my check engine light stays on. Does anyone know how I could fix this problem.. without buying a new converter? Also.. my oxygen sensor was unhooked for a short time after this.

Re: (TheMuffinMan)
If you gutted your cat then that is why the CEL light is on. If you pulled the code I'm sure you'll find P0420 for catalyst inefficiency. There is a kit that you can buy to fool the computer into thinking the cat is still there. Google "O2 sensor simulator" and you will find something that will work. But replacing the cat is the best bet. You bring your emissions level back to normal, which is good. And gutting the cat is not a guarantee for power increase.
