CEL - EGR insufficient flow
Ok guys, the car is a 2000 honda accord v6 coupe with 110k miles
CEL came on and I got it checked out. It was p0401 aka EGR valve insufficient flow. They cleaned the EGR valve and did a test drive and the CEL stayed off. About 5 days later the light came back on.
Took the car back to the repair show and they looked at it tested the valve and came back and said that it has to be that the tubes that lead to the valve must be partially blocked. They rest the light and I took it home as I was going on vacation and needed to get there, but the light came back on on the way to gas up for the vacation... So they suggested that i drop it off one night at closing so that he could try spraying whatever he would use to clean it out into those tubes and let it sit overnight and hope that that would clean it out. Otherwise he said he would have to start removing parts of the engine to clean out the tubes by hand. Any suggestions? Something I might be able to do myself?
thanks

Re: CEL - EGR insufficient flow (Defcon1)
There is a well known Service Bulletin about this problem, I'm surprised you didn't find it using "SEARCH"
http://members.troublecodes.ne...5.gif
to get an emission code to reappear requires 2 complete test drive cycles.
