Default "Brake Lamp" Indicator

Hi all,
I have seen quite a few posts on these forums about this topic, however none of them seem to address my specific issue. The "Brake Lamp" indicator is on after I press the brakes, and the brake lights seem to stick on. I have checked my brake light switch and it doesn't seem to be sticking. I replaced the High Mount Brake Light because it was burnt out, but now the new bulb doesn't seem to work. I think this may be why the Brake Lamp" light is on. Why would the rest of my brake lights stay on though. Thanks for any ideas
