Allow me to reintroduce myself (long)
My name is hove, h to the....
just kidding
My name is Mike, and Im in south west michigan. I have driven a riced out civic for a long time now, and figured it was time for a change. I looked, and looked, and looked for an integra planning to boost it. Every one I saw was expensive as ****, or so high mileage. I found an accord that I liked decently well, but it wasnt exactly what I wanted, so I looked on. Then I found a car that seemed PERFECT -- Accord94dx's turbo/nitrous (nitrous not hooked up) accord. The only thing I didnt like was that it was completed already. However, during around that time I was swapping a clutch, and it was such a pain in the *** when everything was over with, that i realized I really didnt want to work on cars that much at all. I've swapped clutches, and engine, and all of that **** and i just dont feel like it anymore.
So, I gave him a call. He was a really nice guy and answered all of my questions. I deliborated for a while, and finally decided I wanted it. I called him up and told him, and after another guy on this board saw it but couldnt buy it, he said it was mine. I wanted to come get it that weekend but my ride situation got messed up so I put a deposit down and told him I'd come get it the following weekend (which is this weekend, 4/15/04) and meet him in Eau Claire, Wi. I waited with great anticipation, and finally saturday came and it was time to go. After having a bunch of problems with the car we we're going to take, we ended up taking my sisters car, a 91 (i think) toyota celica. Im 6'3'', so it was a TIGHT for the 3 of us.
The ride up was pretty fun, long but fun. **** driving through chicago though. After 7 hours hanging our asses out the window, getting lost 2 - 3 times, and a **** load of mcdon, we we're finally there. When I saw the car sittin there, I was so happy. We hit the pop up headlights as we rolled in, to be pimp. I got out and introduced myself, and all of that, and he showed me it and took me for a spin.
This was my first real experience with a turbo honda, and especially a turbo that small. When he got on it, and it spooled, omfg I was in heaven. It sounded INCREDIBLE. I didnt imagine itd sound like that. Wow. He let me drive it, and that **** was quick. Not the fastest car ever, but it pulls pretty hard. Just exactly what I wanted.
I brought her in and it was a done deal -- I had to have the car. We exchanged title for check, chatted for a bit, shook hands and he headed off. I started to look through all of the stuff he gave me. Records of everything, Helms manual, spings, shocks, vss, iac, tons of ****. man I was smiling like crazy. My friends and I left, me and one kid in my car, and the other in the celica ("red dragon"). I took off once, and holy **** it felt awesome to know Id have that feeling on tap.
The drive back was fun (except for chicago ;p) just having that 5th gear passing ability and all. I was impressed the whole way back. I love knowing that my car is quick, I never feel the need to speed at all. I just cruise and try to actually stay at speed limit, usually im in 5th and below.
I couldnn't be happier about my purchase. The car runs really, really well and is very clean inside and out. No negative after thoughts. The only cons are the manual everything and the drop is just too low so it kills camber in the front, too. Also, I think he did something with the shifter, becuase sometimes it grinds going into 5th but I dont think its the synchro, I think Im just missing but I feel like Im not. Oh well -- I can live with that for awhile until I have some money to raise it up a bit.
My only plans for now are to get it dyno tuned, get rear disks and brembo rotors all the way around, with probably axxis metal master pads, speakers/deck from a friend for when im cruising slow style, relocate battery to trunk, sell nitrous, and raise it up a little bit. It boggs a little at WOT it seems like. Oh well -- as soon as I have some money I'll do it. It just feels damn good because I bought this car with my own hard earned $$ and, ya, it feels good

Nice! Although I was anticipating something going wrong, like you blowing the block, after getting about halfway through the story. But I'm glad nothing bad happened!

of course! I get on it now and then, but for the most part its only for 4 - 5 seconds to hear the boost and feel the pull and then i go right back down. Im babying her as much as I can.

Does your girlfriend live there by the way? Kind of sounded like she did, just curious!

Now did you throw in those israeli gasmasks?
Atheist - good purchase
