ACCORD H22a SLOW BATTERY DRAIN?
I have an 95 accord lx that didn't originally have vtec, with an h22a swap in it. I have a very slow battery drain, the car has been sitting for 3 weeks and now its dead. My friend with another non-vtec car that he put a vtec head on had the same problem. It turned out to be one of his vtec wires was backwards. Do any of you guys know what I could check to find this battery drain? I have a multi-meter.
-thanks

In a Junkyard near you.
I'm not sure about the reversed wires but i'll give you the easiest way to check for a parasitic draw. (your going to need a friend)
#1 loosen your negative cable but don't remove it.
#2 connect your multimeter to the negative cable and the other lead to the actual battery post.
#3 be sure all doors are closed and everything is off.
#4 set your multimeter to read amperage
#5 lift the cable off of the post and around the test lead (so that the test lead is inside of the cable) There is normally a small amount of amperage from the radio backup.
#6 one by one pull and replace each fuse and relay in the fuse boxes untill the excessive amperage goes away.
#7 whatever fuse makes the differance will be the circuit with the problem.
