Default Accord 93 CODE 43

Auto EX 2 door, 168k miles.

Recently replaced spark plugs, oil change, battery, radiator cap

About 2 weeks ago, my mechanic ran a jump from the fans, and now I have a manual switch under the steering wheel to turn the fans on.

But as soon as I picked up the car, started driving home, the CEL light came on. CODE 43 Fuel Supply System. Is it a coincidence or did some wires or connectors come loose when he was running a jump through everything?

Plan on changing o2 sensor, fuel filter, pcv valve sometime next couple weeks.

I appreciate any advice!

check for an exhaust leak before you replace the oxygen sensor

check for fluid in o2 plug seeing as u have an ex. maybe they missed the oil orifice..you would have to have a pretty significant exhaust leak before the 02 sensor for it to be an exhaust leak.. from what I understand 43 describes a rich condition. this should help a little more.

I forgot to mention I had all of that stuff done before the mechanic jumped the fans. Oil change, rad cap, spark plugs etc.

Thanks for the link. I have had a small oil leak for some time, just could never locate it. Im hoping something got on the o2 sensor and I can just clean it off.

Its just bugging me that the CEL came on within 20 minutes of picking my car up at the shop after he just ran some wires through the car. Maybe a fuse or something got jostled and forgot to reconnect something?

I wonder why your mechanic would go through all the trouble to wire a switch in for the fan when they do not require a manual switch from factory. you would just have to fix the failed component whatever it may be.

The previous owner wrecked the area with all the wiring, and its all screwed up. Mechanic told me he can tell someones been digging around in it, and apparently its a bunch of mess and costly.

Last questions: Is there more than one sensor I should be checking? And where exactly are they located?

for the ex it's just before the catalytic converter just behind and underneath the engine in the exhaust pipe...im not sure it's the same for all vehicles so I'd rather you looked to see exactly which one you need

Update: Definitely an exhaust leak. What exactly I was hoping it wasnt. Fuel filter has residue all over it, so replacing that as well.

Thanks for all the help guys. Hopefully this corrects my problems
