accord 2001 V6- transmissions problems
Hi people, I'm having transmission issues with my Accord.. alittle backround, it's 2001 V6 with 160k on it. The problem is the transmission doesnt seem to want to shift unless the car has had atleast 10 minutes to warm up ( doesn't matter if its hot outside or not) after about 10 minutes or so the problem seems to go away. Also if i attempt to drive the car right away without allowing time to warm up, the check engine light and the TCS lights both illuminate and my gear indicator on my gauge cluster flashes and the car wont go into gear. I turn the car off and it seems to reset. Any ideas on what this problem is? thanks for all the help-

Re: accord 2001 V6- transmissions problems
got the codes-there were 2- first was p1750 ( said TCM A/T system fault)
2nd was p7080 (generic shift fault) I called the dealer and they said my car doesn't have a "TCM" not sure where to go from here, any advice would help
thanks

P0780. Mechanical Problem in Hydraulic System
P1750. Mechanical Problem in Hydraulic System
Car does not have a TCM or TCU, it is integrated into a single module with the ECU/ECM and known as the PCM.
Check the electrical connectors are clean and tight to the linear valves(front right top, attached with 5 bolts), and to lockup control valve A(solenoid pair located upper bellhousing, attached with 3 bolts). Check for damaged wiring, pins and wiring harness.
If everything looks fine, with the car off, disconnect the lockup solenoid connector and using a jumper wire directly to the solenoids connector, verify the solenoids function. They should make an audible click when powered on/off.
If they do click, remove lockup solenoids and verify the filter screens are clear of debris.
Only other option to verify problem with these two sets of valves is to replace them and retest.
Since these solenoid valves are ~$500 to purchase for testing, it would be best to bring it to a shop/dealer that already has a pair of testing solenoids on hand, and to have them swap them out for testing to verify if it is indeed a solenoid problem or something else.
