Default ABS Problem

Ok Guys,
My mothers 93 Accord's ABS light came on so I checked the brakes for dragging. The light was coming on after it was used for like 1/4 mile. SO I ripped the rear brakes off and found some problems and fixed them all. Mechanically the car is fine, but the light still stays on. Do I need to reset the computer? Is there any process I should follow? Could it need to be blead? Thanks!

What kind of problems did you find?

Unfortunately, ABS modulators on Accord tend to fail prematurely... but I don't know what type of problems the car had so I shouldn't make any more assumptions...

The rear caliper slide froze and the pads were dragging and wearing all crooked. I then replaced the bracket and put new pads on the back. After this I checked the fronts and everything is good. The only thing left would be to change the fluid which is pretty dirty. Mechanically the brakes are in very good shape.

It's likely the ABS modulator... they love to crap out on Hondas, and are overpriced ($800)... you can try reseting the electrical system, but I have my doubts. Good luck nevertheless...

use brake cleaner and see if that works otherwise pull the codes from the ABS module and it will tell you what is wrong. to get anew sensor installed is about 200 in the twin cities

clean the wheel sensor
Mine were caked with grease and dirt and I'm sure they were not able to work properly.I'm hoping that was why my abs light was on but I wont know until I get these brakes back together.Definitely clean these first! (brake cleaner)

Ummmm dude, just jump the maintenance jumper in the passenger footwell, turn the key (I forget to which position but don't start the car) and the ABS light will blink the code(s). There will be two series of flashes per code. The first the main code, the secont the sub code. Report the code or codes back here.

Ok I know how to do that for the ECU, I didn't realize that works the same for the ABS. Does anyone have a list of the ABS codes? I have to go to my moms house and she doesn't have a computer. Don't ask.... I am working on getting her up to speed and the sad part is she is a IT project manager!

I would imagine the same as a fifth gen. There are little rings that look like gears with teeth around the end of the halfshaft up front (behind the rotors )and behind the hub and rotors on the rear. The sensor is located usually at the lowest point of these with a wire attached that is bolted to the knuckle assembly.
