'99, Ticking sound
So, recently my 1999 Honda Accord Coupe has starting to emit a slight ticking noise from under the drivers side of the car; somewhere between the seat itself and the rear wheel. It almost sounds like a exhaust gasket slightly leaking however, I recently replaced my stock exhaust with a custom - so I know it's not a leak.
Any ideas fellas?

When do you hear the ticking? At idle, only while moving, higher RPMs, while under load or all the time?
New exhaust doesn't mean it can't leak at a gasket or flange if not tightened properly. There really isn't anything other than exhaust between the seat and the rear wheel.

Only at idle. It doesn't happen immediately at idle, but if I go into the store or something when I come back out I can hear it. It's not as loud as from the right side as the drivers side. This happened before my exhaust was changed a couple of times. I thought getting the new pipe would fix any gasket problems.
I googled it and the only thing I could find close to sounding was a EVAP canister.. said it was just an annoying noise and didnt do harm.
Of course I prefer honda-tech's information over random google results.
Thanks

Re: '99, Ticking sound
If it happens @ idle you should do a walk around and see if you can actually pin point exactly where the sound is coming from.
The EVAP canister, solenoid and valve are located just in front of the rear wheel, next to the fuel tank. So it could very well be one of the solenoids/valves. or It could be coming from an accessory belt under the hood that has a crack/chip in it. I have seen that on more than one occasion. People think that there is an issue with the engine/exhaust ticking and it ends up being a worn out belt.

Shouldn't be a worn out belt... My mechanic just replaced them all recently. Is it possible for the cat to make that sort of noise if its worn down?
