Default 99' Honda Accord 2dr, Tech Questions...

I just recently bought a 99' Honda Accord Coupe, it's the 2.3L 4Cylinder, with the 5 speed. I love the car, it's a great improvement from my 1985 Toyota Pick-UP.
The car itself is pretty much stock except for a Horrible AEM pipe and the 17inch rims.
Here's what I would like to do, I want to put on a bit more sporty exhaust system on including exhaust header, get rid of the AEM cold Air intake and replace it with stock, and then lower the suspension just a little.
The reason I want to lose the AEM is simply because it whistles like crazy on the freeway and makes the most abnoxious humming noises...that and there really isn't a noticeable power increase, Although it does sound cool...
So my questions are this:
1)What type of exhaust should I go with? I'm not into street racing and I really don't want to wake up the neighborhood when I come home. My buddy just put a Borla system on his GTI VR6 and it sounds great...granted his car is a V6, but it's not super loud and he doesn't get any torque loss.(also, I want a bolt on...no welding).

2)Also the suspension mod...Like I said earlier I want to lower my car, but not to the point where I'll be scraping over every driveway and speed bumps. It's just that with the 17" rims on there now, my car is noticeably too high off the ground, especially in the front. I mostly just want to go for a sporty look, not Fast in the Furious look. The car as it is now handles a little bit like my Dad's Cadillac, so a slightly tighter suspension would be great. So my question is, which brand/mod should I look into? Price isn't really an issue, but I don't need pro quality either, and I'm definately not interested in tweaking the camber. I'm thinking lowering it maybe an inch all around.

Please keep in mind when you reply, I'm not much of an import enthusiast, and I'm a newb to the terminology(H22,F22, etc). But I have plenty of experience with car mechanics, (working a lot on my truck).

Ohhh and if anyone has a stock Intake system for a 99' Accord, please let me know if you're willing to sell.
Thank You for your input and time,
-Mark

You could sell your AEM intake around 100 buck if it's in good condition, i notice you are in socal, it will be gone like a wind.

do a search on Apex'i WorldSport, it's a classy looking catback system which is pretty quiet until you step on it. it have a thick deep tone unlike most of the fart cannon around. It's smog legal and well under the db level.
RNR also make a great system, i know they made one for the older generation of accord but it's worth a call, they are top notch product.

as long as suspension goes, get a eibach prokit IF your stock damper is still firm and straight. eibach prokit do not require an aftermarket shock which you might not be interested to spend anyway.
Sportline is a tad lower, which you might want to beef it up with some damper.
S-tech is super soft, it's not even worth to get it IMHO, some people like it but i don't.
H&R also make a great set of spring, but eibach is better quality, i had h&R's progressive spring and they "chunk" alot.

here the math

APex'i WS exhaust 350
Eibach prokit 200

if there's still more cash left i would urge you to get a Sway bar, just get the rear piece from ST and you'll thank me later

Hey Thanks a lot for the input, and I am planning on selling the AEM kit, it's got all the bells and whistles on it, including the O2 sensor port and stabilizer bolts so it won't bounce around and start scratching or denting the metal, plus the K&N filter which is in great shape still, took it off last week to check it and clean it, guy who owned the car before me never even cleaned and conditioned it...didn't see a drop of K&N filter oil on it.

Just to Clarify, Mountain View is in the South Bay of the SF Bay Area....so I'm in the Nor-Cal but I don't sport any of the stickers...Nor-Cal...So-Cal, don't matter to me, They are both great.

Once again Thanks!

OH

<--need to learn his california map

one more tip, don't over oil your K&N filter, it's known for killing air flow sensor. it's not so bad on honda but on mustang, it's a big problem.

Hey I just found that exhaust system I think you mentioned,
let me know if this is it:

http://www.optionimports.com/116-kh14.html

Now all I need to do is see how it sounds, know of a website with sound bites? Also I'm looking for a header to go along with it, any ideas?

Hey if you're willing to do a trade, my AEM Pipe, for your Stock Intake on your 98'-2000' accord. Then I'll do that. Cause at the moment I can't sell since it's still on my car! Not until I find a replacement.
