99 Accord EX 4cyl - constant humming noise starts above 30MPH
99 Accord EX 4cyl , 234K Miles on it. - Wired constant humming noise starts above 30MPH - what it could be ?
I don't feel any kind of knocking or whistle or any special noise, its just more friction noise i feel and it gets louder with more speed, sometime i feel its just wind noise
windshield was replaced couple years back and the rubber(insulation/covering rubber on the edge to fill the gap) is not proper at-least on one side.. could it be causing noise (wind going inside from that gap) ?
or it could be wheel bearing ? (noise doesn't come down even if i go down hill)
its just loud above 30MPH, even if its not load on engine ...
here is the
:
i tried to record the noise , i don't notice any noise while turning left or right.
please let me know what it could be ?

Re: 99 Accord EX 4cyl - constant humming noise starts above 30MPH
Could any one help me any pointers ?
I was thinking it might be due to any loose part at the front or in/near engine ? please help how can i troubleshoot ?
just for history - tie rod end was replaced couple yrs back, around 30K miles before, front breaks , rotor, pad also replaced that time...

Thanks for your response, could you be able to help me on how to narrow it down to one side ?
if its wheel bearing, it might be both front or could be rear, i feel noise is from the front. is it going to be big expense for parts and labor ?
please suggest

A few ways to test, jack the car up and see if there is any up and down play with the wheel and inspect to make sure it isn't a ballpoint if there is play. If a wheel bearing is beginning to go bad but does not have play you can put the car in neutral while jacked up and spin the wheel you are checking while lightly touching the coil spring, you will be able to feel vibration through the spring in that scenario and sometimes hear it as well. Listen closely while driving the car and verify that the noise is in fact speed related not rpm related. If all bearings check out good another possible cause of a humming is feathered tires, commonly caused by improper toe settings. You can identify this by rubbing your hand along the tire, if they're feathered it will be smooth rubbing in one direction but difficult/bumpy in the other direction (like petting a bird, hence the name) if this is the case rotate the tires and have an alignment done.
