98' Accord shuts down while on road. Help?
I have a 98 Accord 4 cylinder, automatic. The problem started about 6 years ago. After I would leave work in the afternoon, I would start the car up and head out the parking lot, and at a stop light the car would just stall. I would notice that the engine's temperature was still cold when this happened. I would have to turn the key off, and restart the car. The mechanics at Honda never found anything wrong with my car.
Fast forward to now 2010, the problem actually happened while I was driving and coming to a stop. The car stalled, and I had to manually turn the key off, put the car in park and re-start the car? Any ideas on what this could be? Looking at the car temperature, it was just above the C at this time.

Re: 98' Accord shuts down while on road. Help?
if your car shuts off all of a sudden while driving, 95% chance it is the ignition switch. The ignition switch is known to fail in the 98-02 accords. The part is about $75 at Honda and pretty easy to replace.
If your car shuts off and doesn't start after it shuts off, could be:
Ignitor in Distributor
Coil in Distributor
Main Relay
No Fuel
Battery
Starter
HTH
