97 Accord EX Horn Switch
Help. I need to get my horn working to pass inspection. Working backwards, the horn works when direct power applied from battery, there is constant power at the fuse terminal, the fuse is good, the brake lights work, I switched the cigarette lighter relay with the horn relay, both the same, relay clicks when horn buttons are depressed. I have a detailed manual for this vehicle and it gives step by step directions on how to test the switch and slip ring but they don't appear to be accurate. I cannot find a 4-P or 5-P sms main harness connector anywhere near the steering column. Am I in the right neighborhood or did I pass something by? Easier way to check switch? Any help appreciated.

Re: 97 Accord EX Horn Switch
Just me but the horn has constant power. Only "sounds" when ground is applied. Your comment about putting power to it has me concerned - is the WHT/YEL at the horn hot at all times?
So, me I'd be back to the relay. The BLK wire should have a good ground. The WHT/YEL should have 12v to ground. When you press the horn button - the Lt GRN/BLU should ground the coil of the relay......causing the ground to "flow" from the BLK to the BLU/RED, thus grounding the horn...
Hope this makes sense, it is early and I haven't had the proper amount of coffee yet...
One last question - does this/did this car have an alarm system?
