97 Accord cigarette lighter outlet doesn't work
Hello!
I have a JDM Accord SiR-T (CF4). The car is great but the broken cigarette lighter outlet irritates me. I noticed that there was no fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse box #8. I found out that is the fuse for ACC relay. I put 7.5 Amp fuse there as it read in the fuse diagram. Whee! The outlet began to work. Then I took a multimeter and tried to get a voltage reading from the outlet. I screwed up and managed to get a short circuit by touching the side of the outlet with both test leads. Now the outlet doesn't work and both ACC-related fuses (40 Amp in under-hood box and that 7.5 Amp in under-dash box) are okay. I have no radio or audio player in the car so I don't know if power goes to theirs wires. Could the cig lighter's relay be bad? If so, where do I find the relay? Or any other ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What about #36 15amp in the under hood fuse box?
If it is ok as well, it could be the relay of you burnt the wire to the socket. The relay is in the center console.....almost right behind the socket.

There are no numbers in the under-hood fuse box's diagram... And every fuse in the under-hood box are okay. I think relay is the problem. Tomorrow I'm gonna take of the center console and check the relay.

Thank you for your help but I found the problem. There was another fuse box on passenger's side under-dash. One fuse had blown there. I didn't even know that there are three fuse boxes in the car

Then you have a 98 Accord......the 5th gens (94-97) only have two - underhood and drivers under dash......the 6th gens (98-02) have three.

But my Japanese Export Certificate says that the first reg. date was in december 1997. Strange... Maybe it is 1998 then. By the way, do you have all the fuse box diagrams of the 1998 car? I would really appreciate if you posted the diagrams and explanations what fuse is under each number. Thanks!

Yes I have them....it will take a bit. Again, the 97 (5th gens) only had two boxes - under hood and drivers under dash. So if you have a fuse box on the pass side as well.....it is a 98 design.
Is this a 6 or 4 cyl....slight differences is what fuse does what based upon options between the two.

This is a 4 banger F20B engine. All the fuse diagrams are in Japanese so I'm not absolutely sure which fuse is which... Hopefully fuse diagrams are same in USDM and JDM Accords.

A JDM Accord SiR-T (CF4) is a 4 cylinder. 1997-2002 Accord SiR-T and Accord Torneo in the Japan and Euro market are 6th generation Accords.
There are slight differences for several fuses in the interior fuse box when compared to U.S. 4 cylinders.
You can try scanning the Japanese fuse diagrams you have and uploading them to something like Google translator toolkit.
