i did a search for this and found about 4 different answers....all i'm looking for is....

what is the stock speaker size of the front door kick panel speakers on a 1995 accord LX? These things are shitty and need to be replaced asap!

all the forums i searched had people recommending brands and mods and different sizes - i don't care about that, i just want a simple replacement of the exact size.

They're 5.25" (5¼"). I'm getting ready to replace the ones in my '94 Accord EX, and am looking at Infinity or Boston Acoustic. This time I'm going to pay a bit more so they won't crap out on me every time I play "Bad Moon Rising." (Those 5.25s have no sense of humor.)

I have heard two different responses as well. I have a 95 Accord LX and replaced the door speakers years ago with Kenwood 5.25". I have read in a number of places at 6.5" fit, but I do not think this is the case without some modification to your door. The best way to go is look on eBay for a pair of speakers, or go to Crutchfield. They will send you the appropriate speakers wire harness and detailed instructions on how to take your door panel off. Actual size of the door speakers is 6.5, although some 6.5 inch speakers will only fit with some minor trimming. I've installed Alpine, Kenwood, and Sony 6.5 inch speakers into peoples 5th Accords without any problems. You'll just need to drill new holes for the screws, since aftermarket speakers have 4 holes, and factory speakers have 3.

i got the 6.5s, but i didnt think about getting a shallow mount speaker.... easy fix is to take the black basket behind the stock speaker and modifying it to act as a spacer (i just used the outer ring that has the holes to screw it to the door) and presto....works like a charm

the correct size of speaker for your accord are 6 1/2 speakers for the front and 6x9 for the rear

lol i have some 100 watt jensens ghetto rigged in my door panel, (not even screwed on), ill fix them this weekend, (summertime in fl, mosquitos biting you every 3 sec, and u just wanna get it done, its hell lol).

Like he said crutchfield.com will tell you but I assume it is the same as my EX which are 6.5" speakers but they can't be very deep like he said. Only some 6.5" speakers will fit without modification. Crutchfield will tell you what fits and I bought my speakers from them and they are 6.5" but I don't know the exact depth but you can put smaller in with brackets or maybe some in without adapter brackets. I would get 6.5s though.

only problem with crutchfield is that they will rape you in prices....

Like others mentioned before, it is 6 1/2 in hte doors, and an easy way to modify the black plastic basket is to remove it and use a razor knife to cut out the back part leaving the outer ring like a spacer like someone mentioned. The quickest way, the way I do it, is to leave it on the car and use an airsaw, takes about 3 seconds. Good luck.

How do I get the speaker grills off, or do I have to pull the door panel off. I was thinking of getting new fronts as well, probably Boston Acoustics. Same question for the rears, do I access them through the trunk, or can I pop off the grills from inside. I had a Civic before, and the grills had 2 screws holding them in. Thanks for the help.

i have pioneer 1680rs (6.5s) in my front and back with the kick panel speakers be warethat youll probably have to use a riser or something, and when getting new speakers dont be suprised if they distort at high end and dont play as loud as you want, get an amp (if you buy it from bestbuy or its not a very reputable brand get a amp that has double the watts that you can handle because they dont put out near what they advertise) generally aftermarket speakers can handle alot more then your head will put out, you probably already knew all that but just FYI
