Knocking sound coming from the front driver side while driving.
So my 1996 Accord is making a knocking sound when I drive. It's slower at slow speeds and faster and louder during higher speeds. It doesen't happen when I accelerate or apply the brakes, only when I am driving normally. The maintenance light came on, but the check engine light is off. At first I thought that It was something with the wheels, but now I am not sure. Any thoughts about what might be causing it? I just had the oil changed, the engine seems to run smooth and it's not a high mileage car. Idles fine and starts quickly. The knocking sound only happens when I am driving. I've checked under the hood and examined the engine while it was running and couldn't hear anything out of the ordinary. Any advice would be great so I will know If I need to immediately go to the mechanic. From my research so far, I'm thinking it might be the c.v. joints, but am not sure. Hoping that it isn't engine related. Thanks for the help.

Check your harmonic balancer. It's a two piece and the rubber between the two pulleys goes bad and the balancer falls apart (happened to me). Usually the cv half shaft joints don't "knock" while driving straight, but they do "click" while cornering.
Check your balancer first and if that's not the problem then move on to your cv half shafts
