94 honda Accord stud replacement information?
New to the forums here, so please be nice
I have searched the web, but can't really find an answer directly relating to my exact issue. I recently had new tires on my 94 accord and turns out two of my studs were stripped on my front drivers side and need to be replaced. I read it was a pretty easy thing to do so, I when out and bought some studs etc. but after getting my tire off I became a little overwhelmed so here I am.
Some claim there is a space for I can knock the old stud out and put a new one in. Others claim you have cut the end corner of the new stud to get it in and/or remove the bearing/hub. I see no such thing once I got my tire off.
I called a few shops in town and they tell me They would have to replace everything and do an alignment to get new studs in and they all want to charge me over 200 dollars. They said if they can do it without new bearings it would be 150...That has to be entirely labor...these studs are like 2 bucks a piece. I would love to do this myself and learn something in the process and save a ton. Any help, links to pics, videos would be ever so helpful.
Do I have to have my bearing replaced as these shops say? It seems many people think otherwise and they are just trying to get every bit of money out of me. Thoughts?
It's a LX model 94 accord if that helps.
Thanks in advance.
