Default 94 accord Lx coolant drain plug on engine block

Hi,

My owner's manual shows a drain plug for the coolant on the engine block.
Does this drain plug exist? The picture shows it near the oil filter area.
Im trying to change my coolant and trying to get it all out.
Any info would be appreciated.

I drained my block twice on xmas day in 30 degree weather. The bolt is just to the left and down from the oil filter. It's impossible to see, you just have to feel for it with your fingers, then slip socket over it. I can't remember what I used, I think it was a 17mm 3/4 deep socket with a small extension. If your car is on jackstands and you are on your back, there is no way to drain the block without getting coolant/water all over you. No fun when it's freezing out.
If you are doing a through cooling system purge/cleaning, I suggest you pick up some cooling system cleaner. I used Prestone myself. You put it in and top off with water, and then run the engine for 10 minutes after the engine reaches operating temperature. Next, drain the radiator and block again, fill with water, and run for another 10 minutes after the water reaches operating temp. After this, drain and fill with 50/50 coolant water or whatever ratio you prefer. By the way, whenever putting coolant into an empty block, undo the air release valve that sits behind the distributor, right on top of where the upper radiator hose connects to the block. Fill the radiator until fluid leaks out of the air release valve. It'll take a few days of driving before your cooling system is fully topped off.
